Teaching

Science Education Centre is coordinating the master`s degree program for gymnasium science teachers.

The studies last for two years in the form of session learning, which is also suitable for working teachers. The curriculum enables the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary for a teacher of biology, physics, geography or chemistry in upper secondary school and basic school, as well as the basics of educational research.  The acquired education allows to start working as a teacher of biology, physics, geography or chemistry in upper secondary school and basic school.

Over the course of two years, knowledge is acquired in general pedagogical, educational science, didactic, and subject-specific fields, with a focus on applying various active learning methods and utilizing interactive teaching tools. Didactic preparation is based on a revised concept of learning, where skills such as communication, management, and other 21st-century competencies are developed. Teaching is conducted under the guidance of experienced practitioners, who illustrate theoretical knowledge with examples from real school life. Subject-specific studies (chemistry, physics, etc.) are guided by top specialists in their respective fields.
